ICANN's new Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP) goes into effect on August 31, 2013. There are a number of provisions in this policy that affect you as a reseller and that may require your attention.
Email Expiration Notices
Changes to expiration notifications have already gone into effect for all domains you manage through your S&K Technologies account. S&K Technologies now automatically sends ICANN-mandated renewal reminders to registrants 30 days prior and 5 days prior to expiry of all gTLD domain names. An additional email is sent 3 days after expiry.
The ERRP requires resellers to describe on their websites (if applicable) the methods used to deliver pre- and post-expiration notifications. At a minimum, you must list the fact the 30, day 5 and day -3 notices are sent via email. This information also needs to be included in the contract or agreement you have with your registrants. As mentioned above, OpenSRS already handles the sending of the emails for you.
