I changed the DNS settings but it doesn't work or I can still get the old website

After you've changed the DNS settings it can take up to 24 hours before it is updated for every internet user.

The DNS system of the internet is a decentral system. This means that every internet provider for example most likely have their own DNS servers which you're using. Every DNS server on the internet downloads the DNS settings from our (or your) DNS servers and saves the settings up to 24 hours. After that those servers download the settings again and, when you've updated those settings, they get the new DNS settings.

Because everybody uses their own DNS servers of their own provider (or from google public DNS) it is possible that you already have the new DNS settings and a friend doesn't. If you're planning to change some DNS settings it is important to remember that it can take up to 24 hours before everybody has the update.
